Splashes

Today I have a card based on Melanie Hyde's "Noel" from page 51 of the November 2012 issue of CardMaker magazine.  I've never used a stamp positioner.  I just eyeballed these rows.  I'll file this card away to use for my niece, Sierra's 5th birthday.

Supplies Used:  white and red cardstock from The Paper Studio; "My Notebook" set and "A Perfect Day" set from Hero Arts; Bamboo Leaves, Danube Blue, Canteloupe, Cottage Ivy. Tangelo, Bahama Blue and black dye ink from Tsukineko; 1-inch circle punch and corner rounder punch

Have a great day!

Pastel Pencils

I thought the sand trucks rumbling back and forth up and down our neighborhood were half crazy last night.  We had flurries in the forecast, but it hadn't done a thing all day.  It was just a gorgeous, thick cloudy day--the kind of day that's perfect for cardmaking, sewing, drawing, writing or taking a ride.  Of course, this morning I ended up going out to shovel one and a half to two inches of light, fluffy snow.

There's still plenty of time to make winter cards.    It's easy to add a snowy look to your cards, using pastel pencils.   This works particularly well on kraft paper.

Stamp trees with dark brown chalk ink (I used Colorbox).  Go over the branches with a light green pastel pencil, and then add white to the tops of branches. Voila!  Snow!

If your more in the mood for spring, add a quick pop of color to a scene like this one.

I kept the color very simple, only accenting the eggs and leaves.

Here I used Martha Stewart's Floral Crochet punch along the edge and added a light blue sheet inside the card.

Come back soon!

More Scraps

I used more of my leftovers the other day to make these two cards, perfect for a man.  In fact, I planned the first one for a WWII veteran.  (I'm afraid it'll be a belated card, because he's already celebrated his 90th birthday.)

All stamps are from Flonz

Scrap Treasures

Hi!  Head on over to the CardMaker blog
I'm there today, sharing a card made entirely from bits and pieces from my scrap drawer, which, as you can see, is overflowing.

Stop back in here tomorrow to see two masculine cards also made from scraps.

Have a great day!
